Helping people move with ease again
I believe everybody has the capacity to find more ease and joy in movement.
Pain, stiffness and tension are rarely signs that your body is "broken." More often, they're signs that your body has adapted the best way it knows how—working harder than it needs to in order to protect you.
My role is to help you understand why, and to guide you back towards more efficient, confident movement.
Whether you're seeking relief from persistent pain, recovering from injury, or simply wanting to move more freely, my goal is not just to help you feel better today, but to help you develop the awareness and skills to keep moving well for years to come.
My story
I've spent more than twenty years helping people move and feel better through soft tissue therapy, rehabilitation and Pilates. What has fascinated me throughout that time is a simple question:
Why do some people recover quickly, while others become trapped in recurring cycles of pain and injury?
That curiosity has led me to continually expand my understanding of the human body through the study of movement, breath, rehabilitation and, more recently, osteopathy. Along the way, I've come to realise that lasting change rarely comes from treating muscles alone. It comes from helping the whole body organise itself more efficiently. When movement becomes easier, strength often follows naturally. Pain reduces. Confidence returns. And people begin trusting their bodies again.
My approach
Every person who walks through my door brings a unique story.
Rather than focusing only on where it hurts, I look at how your whole body is working together. Often the source of a problem lies somewhere unexpected—a breathing pattern, a stiff spine, an old protective habit that never switched off, or a movement strategy that once served you well but is no longer helpful.
Treatment may combine hands-on soft tissue therapy, movement assessment, breathing education, Pilates-based rehabilitation and practical exercises that fit naturally into your everyday life. My aim is always the same: to help you move with greater ease, efficiency and confidence.
Influenced by JEMS
A philosophy that has profoundly shaped my work is JEMS® (Joanne Elphinston Movement Systems). JEMS proposes that beautiful, efficient and powerful movement doesn't come from strength, control or effort. Instead, it emerges naturally when the body is well organised, connected and free to move.
This perspective has transformed the way I teach movement and provide treatment. Rather than encouraging people to brace, grip or force their bodies into position, I help them discover how relaxation, elongation and coordinated movement can create greater strength, stability and resilience.
It's a philosophy that continues to influence every session I teach.
My philosophy.
I don't believe healthcare should create dependence.
Whether you come to see me for soft tissue therapy or private Pilates, my goal is to help you understand your body well enough that you feel capable, confident and resilient without me.
If you leave each session moving a little more freely, trusting your body a little more, and feeling equipped to care for yourself, then we've achieved something meaningful together.
